Grading & Promotion
The following procedures will be followed when promoting or retaining a student:
- A student must successfully complete and master at least 70% of his/her academic assignments, skills and concepts. The student’s success must be supported by using the student’s work in a folder against his/her test scores.
- A student must be in attendance at least 158 days out of 174 days of school unless an emergency situation occurs as documented by a doctor’s statement.
- A student must demonstrate the appropriate attitude and classroom participation.
The teacher must recommend the promotion or retention of all students based on items 1A, B, and C of the Grading and Promotion requirements and two of the following: local assessments, standardized testing and teacher evaluation of the student readiness for the next grade level. The student must meet the criteria for promotion.
