Reading with your children is a great way to help them build their oral language and vocabulary. It is also a very special time to spend one-on-one each day. Make sure to choose a book that is slightly above your child’s reading ability. Take time to stop and talk about the story and pull out vocabulary words. You can even look up kid-friendly definitions on www.kids.wordsmyth.net.
